AC problem

Is your furnace leaking water when the AC is on?

So you are facing an AC problem in running, everything is cooling, and everything is great, then you look at your furnace and water leaking all over it. Bad news, huh? Right now we are on most hot days of summer and you should know that if you are running your AC and your furnace is leaking, it’s actually the coil that’s on top of here that’s leaking water!

How should you solve the problem?

Most of the time it’s a very easy solution to locate the drain line. The condensate drain line and all the humidity that collects from your house goes into a drain pan on the bottom of this coil – right at the top of the furnace – it collects in a drain pan and it flows out. With time this fitting will get dunked up with dirt and debris and other stuff, you can pull the hose off then put your hand over it and try blowing through it. if you can freely blow all the way through it that means the hose itself or the drain line is clear and most likely you have something stuck in the fitting itself. Therefore if you want you can just take a piece of wire and try to jam it into the fitting and clean it all out or you could just take some pliers or channel locks and just take the fitting right off.

Keep in mind that if your drain pan is actually backed up and there is a plugin when you take this out, you’re going to have a ton of water, so have a towel handy and put it there to absorb the water that will come out. Now your problems should be solved.
But maybe you are that unlucky person and have the solid plastic PVC pipe going usually that’s glued onto the fitting and you can not just take it off as you can with this hose so your options aren’t either to cut the pipe and then put it on a coupling which is kind of pain and its better to have some expert to do it or if you want to do it yourself just take some compressed air and go to the other side of the drain line put a hose in there and just blast it through backwards usually that’s sufficient to clear any of the blockages out and then everything will start draining normally.
